Christopher (Or Topher, Or Jesus, Or Xtopher)

My friend Chris (see photo above) graciously agreed to audition for a show that I am co-directing (along with the talented Victoria Irvine) which is being performed in The Colony at http://lakesidetheatre.org/. If you have been reading Chris' blog (http://www.chrisisanut.blogspot.com/) then you know how witty and funny he is. This is NOTHING compared to "Chris Live." If you do ANYTHING next weekend, plase come and see Chris in "The Odd Couple (Female Version)" and see for yourself.

Chris and I are playing brothers in this show. I am Manolo, he is Jesus. He is very neat, I am not. He is always on time, I am always late. And we have a GREAT time doing this show.; we really, really do.

There are very few actors who can get me to crack up on stage, or lose character, and he is one of them. I know this will come as a big SHOCK to everyone out there, but things like this DO happen. I can't help it, he's fucking hilarious.

Chris is also VERY funny BACKSTAGE in the Green Room. I've always said that the BEST show is backstage. I suggested we sell tickets for the Green Room, but no one seems very interested. Mostly because everyone and everything is free game. As in we will make fun of ANYTHING and ANYONE! No one is left out... well, some things are not discussed, like farting, Joe Johnston, Joy's absolute hatred for everything, and Chris' really big dick.

So, this blog is an ode to my good friend and "brother," Topher!

Stardate 021706.02

Not much to report, really. It's the end of the week, and I am verly glad of that. The week went by REALLY fast, and I was also glad of that.

The show I am co-directing and acting in opens next week. Things are coming along nicely, and we should be ready just in time.

Stardate 021406.01

Well, it's Valentine's Day again. I used to hate this holiday. I guess if you ask most people, they are for it if they have a "significant other" to celebrate it with. Most singles HATE this holiday... and then they hook up with someone and the next time the holiday rolls around, it's all, "I LOVE VALENTINE'S DAY!"

Well, I do love this holiday, so there!!

Melissa dropped by our old theatre stomping ground, Backdoor Theatre (http://www.backdoortheatre.org/) over the weekend. She picked up the tape of the perforance of 1998's production of Lovers snd Other Strangers. Melissa and I played an engaged couple in the final scene. My character (Mike Hunt) shows up to confront Melissa's character (Susan) and inform her that he does NOT want to get married.

Anyway, this particular recording has our historic engagement. That's right, I proposed to Melissa directly after curtain call, right on stage in front of the audience, my friends, and some of Melissa's family. Needless to say, she said yes, and the rest is history.....

Watching this moment after all these years, and after the birth od our son William, makes it that more special. So, if you happen to drop by, I'd be more than willing to play it for you!

Melissa, I love you so much! You have made my life more than I thought it could ever be. You gave me a precious wonderful son, and you fill every moment of my life with love and compassion. You are truly an amazing woman!!
