My High School Letterman Jacket

Okay, so we were at my Granny's house last weekend visiting the family. My sister Kim and her daughter Olivia are visiting from California. Anyway, it hit me as I was in the living room that I had remember seeing my letterman jacket in the living room closet the last time I was there.

So, I checked the closet, and there at the back, on a hanger, was my letterman jacket. I remember how proud I was the day I got it. It meant the world to me to FINALLY have one. Okay, so I lettered in Band (I was Drum Major, afterall), but it's STILL a letterman jacket.

So, I grabbed that bad boy and put it on. IT STILL FIT! And let me tell you, I looked GOOOOOOD. It brought back so many fantastic memories of high school. Then it hit me; I needed to see Melissa in it.

Well, she put that thing on and OH MY GOD! HUBBA, HUBBA! She looked HOTT! You see, Melissa and I didn;t go to high school together, so we missed all that stuff that teen boys and girls share in high school, so seeing her in my letterman jacket was AWESOME! Man, she looked AMAZING!

Well, I put the jacket in the car, and we returned home. All the way home all I could see in my mind was Melissa in my jacket. AM I CRAZY?! It's just that she looked so fuckin' hott in that thing!! WHOAH BABY!!

On a personal note, and she hates when I do this, so keep quiet, I convinced her that I had to see her in JUST the jacket. That's right, folks, just the jacket. So, on Wedneday night she dissapeared into the bathroom, and came out in just the jacket.

OH MY DEAR LORD!! So, needless to say we had some amazing sex while she wore my jacket. And, fair is fair, I wore it for a while too.

Sorry if I shared too much....... but, I can't help it.

She looks SSSOO amazing in my jacket.

Best Friends.........

Friendships are some of the most important relationships we have. And then, the ultimate friendship is your BEST friend. Some have several BEST friends, some just have one.

Best friends are supposed to share stuff...

Best friends are supposed to be there for each other....

Best friends are supposed to give you support and encouragement....

Best friends are supposed to trust each other....

So, why did mine not do any of those things?! I feel I've lost a part of myself. My BEST friend was like a brother to me. He saved me from so many bad moments in my life, why didn't he trust me to help him.....

What's Next?!

Well, some of you out there in Blogland are asking yourselves, "what's next for David theatre wise?"
Well, I am here to let you know what's next. Of course, let me fill you in a bit on what has come before.
In December of 2005 I directed my first show for LCT "A Dickens' Christmas Carol." It was an absolute blast, I made many friends, and got my foot in the door at LCT.
Next up, in February of 2006 Victoria and I Co-Directed LCT's next production "The Odd Couple (Female Version)" It was around this time that Victoria and I were elected to the Board of LCT.
Next up, the board finalized an entire season of shows for LCT. First up, in June Victoria and I Co-Directed "Laundry & Bourbon and Lone Star."
Next up in the season is "Dial M for Murder" which will go up in October of this year. But before that, Victoria and I have another project to do. A project that MANY of you may have seen us do in the past, and some of you have only HEARD of it.
It's the return of "The American Dream!" That's right, Elvis fans! Of course, the title might have changed, Jack has done some rewrites and some editing and some cutting of the show, but IT'S BACK!
We have a readthrough tonigth of the script, and Victoria and I cannot be more excited.
The show will run in September at The Eisemann Center in Richardson, Texas.
So, that's what I am doing next. After the Elvis show, I will be assisting somehow with "Dial M for Murder" for LCT. I am still their Artistic Director, afterall........

Sadness....

A Great Sadness Current mood: sad Category: Romance and Relationships
Okay, I am going to take a break from my "Finger Adventures" which I know everyone enjoys reading. However, I have something a lot more important to talk about.
Without naming names and invading their privacy, I do want to say that two of my dearest and closest friends are filing for seperation, and soon after that, divorce.
Without trying to make this about ME (which it isn't) I will say that I am very saddened by this news. They had a love that I envied in my earlier years before I found Melissa.
But, things change, people change, and when things can't ever seem to get better, well, you know the rest.....
Also, what is very difficult, is this attitude to NOT take sides. It's actually VERY difficult to BE Switzerland. But, I am trying my best.

Finger Fun 03

The Accident in The Garage Part 3 (The Weekend) Current mood: content Category: Blogging
So the rest of the night (after leaving the ER) is pretty much a blur. I don't remember much, although Melissa, Chris, and Victoria have helped me fill in the holes.
We left the ER and went to the nearest Walgreens to get my prescriptions filled. It was going to take at least 30 minutes, so Melissa decided to take Will and I home and then go back.
Chris and Victoria stayed with me and Will while Melissa drove all the way back to the Walgreens. Apparently I was going in and out of consciousness, but it seems I thanked Victoria for everything she'd done and I promised to buy her a dress.
I remember saying goodbye to Chris and Victoria when Melissa got home, but I don't remember going to bed.
The next day Melissa and I spent together with William and Slappy. We took Will on his first picnic and really enjoyed the day.
Stay tuned for Part Four, The Surgery.......

Finger Fun 02

So we are in the car and headed to the nearest Emergency Room. Melissa is driving very fast (with her HAZARDS on) and I am sitting in the passenger seat holding my hand and crying and moaning. Please note that I don't recall swearing (very loudly, anyway) as William was in the car.
Again, this moment seems like a distant memory, but I do remeber begging Melissa to NOT take me, as I knew the pain that I would be enduring. I remember lots of tears (okay, so I am a baby when it comes to pain. We'll see how much you cry when YOU get the end of one of your digts WHACKED off in a door).
Meliss is doing a GREAT job of keeping me calm and alert. I did feel the urge several times to pass out, but I fought that. It was ALL because of Melissa. She really came through for me in a MAJOR way!
So we pull into Trinity Medical's ER parking lot. It's funny, as we were right at this same hospital a little over a year ago when William was brought into this world.
We get in to the ER and Melissa talks to some guy at the front desk. We are asked to take a seat and a nurse would be right out. Will is having a great time. Melissa was just about to change him, so not only is he wearing only a diaper, it's a DIRTY diaper at that!
Melissa takes my phone (which she had snagged on her way out) and asked me who I wanted her to call. We decided on Victoria as she was the closest. I guess Melissa spoke to her, because by that time (I guess it was about 2 minutes) a very nice nurse came and looked at my pinky. He then wheeled me into a trauma room in a wheelchair.
I got up onto the examining table and was soon surrounded by a doctor (Dr. Neelum, who I believe I called Dr. Neela all night. Dr. Neela is one of the characters on ER) and several nurses and staff people.
Melissa and Will were escorted into the room with me. A very nice nurse (or adoctor or an ER intern) even fetched William a diaper and a bottle of Pedialite.
The next thing I knew I was being asked many questions at the same time getting an IV on my left hand, a tetnus shot in my right shoulder (which hurt for about 4 days AFTERWARDS), and then, my favorite, the meds to numb my finger.
I remember Melissa asking (God, I love this woman) Dr. Neelum about the part of my finger she had brought. That's right, MySpace readers, Melissa ACTUALLY picked up the piece of my finger from the floor of the garage and placed it in a baggie of ice and brought it with her. We actually joked about it being a piece of carrot. This is only funny to the MILLIONS of people who watched Friends and remember Monicahad cut of one of Chandler's toes and brought up a piece of carrot instead of his toe.
Needless to say it was NOT a piece of carrot, but according to Dr. Neelum because the tip didn't contain any blood vessells, it was not viable. But I love Melissa for bringing it anyway!!
Next it's time to get cleaned up. They poured some stuff on my left hand (remember, I was using it to hold my hurt hand and it was covered in blood) to clean it off. It was at this point that things start to get a bit crazy. The IV they inserted is now slowly filling my veins with delicious and wonderful Morphine.
I'm in the very early stages of the drug taking effect, so I am kinda going in and out. Next Dr. Nelum begins to inject my pinky with drugs to numb my finger. And let me tell you, this HURT! I mean it was SSSOO painful!
She needs to numb the finger so she can get it cleaned up. So, after I think was 3 seperate injections (OWIE), the pain in my finger is slowly going away. So then she starts to clean up my finger.
Okay, no big deal, it's numb, right?! Well, SOME of it is. She starts cleaning a part of my finger that isn't quite numb and I am going MAD with pain. Chris can attest to this (as at this time he has been in the room with me for a while. I think we actually had a pretty fun conversation. I still don't remember ALL that I said, but I'm sure he'll write a blog ALL about it) and I think I was even squeezing his hand. I think he might have a bruise.
It's at this point that I literally do not remember ANYTHING until I was wheeled out to the car. I don't remember them putting the bandage on, I don't remember Victoria being there, I don't remember much of anything.
So, there it is, the visit to the ER...
I want to say RIGHT now that my wife, Melissa, really came through for me. She was there for me through ALL of that! I am a BIG baby, and she really kept me calm and alert and had the BEST positive attitude than ANYONE, and I know that inside she was crying and worrying. My wife can REALLY make a crisis like that AWESOME!
Also, to Chris and Victoria who came up and sat with Melissa and helped watch William, and who came into the Trauma Room. I love you both SO much for that!!

Alright, stay tuned for MORE of my exciting adventures.....

Pinky Fun 01

It was after William's birthdaty party, the final guests had just left (thanks for staying and chatting, Chris and Victoria). Melisa was on the phone with her Mom updating her in Will's party.
I grabbed Melissa's keys so that I could put her car back in the garage. We left it out so we could bring all the groceries in easier.
I opened the door that leads from the kitchen into the garage. I turned, and with my left hand pushed the button to open the garage door. For some reason or another (it happened SO fast) I had placed my right hand at the seam of the door, leaving my pinky vulnerable to the EVIL door. Apparetntly I had also pulled the door closed at the same time as pushing the button, because the next thing I knew, SEARING PAIN in my hand,
I grabbed my right hand to stop the bleeding, and then looked at the result. I didn't think it was gonna be that bad. And then saw the tip of my pinky was gone, and I think I saw bone.
I was screaming and yelling, which obviously got Melissa's attention. She came out, followed by William and Slappy. I told her that I thought I needed to go to the ER and she agreed.
It waslike a circus getting us all in the car and Slappy back in the house. I was obviously freaking out and crying and trying my best (though it wasn't working) to stay calm. Melissa kept telling me to get in the car. I was so worried about William and Slappy, and getting my cell phone and wallet.
Somehow, though, the three of us managed to get in the car and get on the road to the ER.....

To Be Continued....
