Friend Makin' Mondays (On A Wednesday)

It's time for another Friend Makin' Mondays post courtesy of Kenlie. You know the drill! Answer the prompt, then go leave a comment on Kenlie's most recent FMM post with a link back, and enjoy the comments!

--------------------------

1) What is one of your favorite ways to spend a Saturday? I just love to hang out at home. Like my good friend Mandy, I have a very busy schedule most of the time (self-inflicted, naturally), and my favorite Saturday would include waking up around 10am, making coffee, watching some television, catching up email, messing around on Facebook. And of course hang out with my amazing family!! Maybe go out to lunch or dinner and just enjoy the time off from work.

2) List your top three favorite TV shows. I am a self-proclaimed tv junkie and have been sitting in front of a television since I could sit up. I was probably only the only 8th grader who watched LA Law!! In no particular order, and I am sure to miss a ton of my favortites, they are Quantum Leap, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Friends, Lost, Knight Rider, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, ER, Red Dwarf, LA Law, Night Court, Battlestar Galactica, Seinfeld, Family Ties, China Beach, M*A*S*H,, Doctor Who, The Big Nag Theory (see, I told you I was a tv junkie).

3) Would you rather be in pictures or take them? Melissa is the queen of picture taking, although I don't mind taking them. I love to be in pictures and be as crazy as possible and smile and look cool!

4) Why do you blog? I just wanted to start it again. I had a journal I kept from 1995 thru 1997, but then I quit. I started blogging a few years ago, and quit again. I was inspired by Mandy, so I am going to keep this one going; it's so Carrie from Sex and the City.

5) Share five websites that you visit regularly. Facebook, Entertainment Weekly, TV Guide, Ain't It Cool News, and Retail Underground.

6) If you could have lunch with one person from your Twitter list who would it be?

7) List a few of your favorite snacks. Oreos, crackers, ice cream, bananas, apples, peanuts

8 ) Do you have a pet? If so, what kind? We have a tankful of freshwater fish and a pureplood pug named Frankie.

9) Which three material possessions would you struggle to live without? My Android, Television, Computer

10) What’s your favorite drink? Alcoholic: Cape Cod. Non-alcoholic: Coffee or Dr. Pepper

11) Do you enjoy cooking? Very, very much

12) Do you have children? We sure do! William is 6 and Lily is 2.

13) What are your favorite hobbies? Farmville, watching television, playing with the kids.

14) Would you consider yourself to be shy or outgoing? It really depends on the environment I am in. I find myself withdrawn if alone and around strangers. When I am with my friends I can be very outgoing!

15) If you could change one thing about yourself, what would you change? My physical appearence.

16) Who is your favorite actor/actress? Female: Julianne Moore Male: William H. Macy

17) What’s the coolest thing you’ve done this week? Posted on Facebook....

18) Do you live near your family or far from them? My Mom and two of my sisters live about 45-75 minutes away. One of my sister's lives very far away in North Carolina.

19) List three of your talents. OKAY! Acting, directing, designing

20) What is your greatest attribute? My acting/directing talent.

Frustrating

So I just spent 20 minutes typing up a blog abou the weekend, and due to some error it didn't post, and it was lost.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

Ready For A Peaceful Sleep!

What a great weekend!! On Friday night Melissa's Dad, sister, brother-in-law, and newphew came for a visit. We went out to eat at Babe's and then headed home and all went to bed. On Saturday Terry measured the backyard for a new fence and then he headed home (he basically drove down to bring us all the Christmas presents that wouldn't fit in our car when he came home for Christmas). Then the Melissa took our guests out for a day of shopping while I chose to stay home and relax.

After their day of shopping our guests headed back to Wichita Falls. On Sunday Melissa cooked a big breakfast (waffles, eggs, bacon, and biscuits) and then we went mattress shopping. We went to 3 different places but finally settled on a mattress at Sleep Experts. We get our Laura Ashley mattress on Friday, and I cannot wait!!!

And Scene....

So I attended auditions for NO LATE FEES last night and I think I read pretty well! Before the cold readings we got to do an improv sketch and it was really fun. It reminded me of how much I love improv, and I really miss doing it. I know LCT's Improv Troupe didn't really do that well, so can't we just have an improv group that just plays?!

We should hear something today about whether or not we made it into the show (on ly a 7 person cast). I really wanna do this show and would love to work with a lot of the actors that auditioned for the show. It's been a while since I've been on stage with Kari & Keegan ("I Hate Hamlet") so what a great reunion that would be!!

On a side note, Lily was up this morning at 3:45 am! She didn't want to go back to sleep, asked for her baby, etc. I wouldn't pick her up and take her into our room, so she started to cry. So I grabbed my pillow and laid on the floor next to her crib thinking she'd go back to sleep -- WRONG! When my alarm went off in the other room (4:40am), she was still awake. I put her into bed with Melissa and jumped in the shower. Once I got out and got dressed, she and Melissa were in the living room on the couch watching cartoons. She was talking up a storm and very excited to be awake -- something tells me she's going to crash come nap time!

Elementary, Dear Jude

Well, what a day I had on Monday the 2nd! Will and Lily both had school so the wife and I went to see Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Melissa loved the first one and watches it whenever it's on tv.
I liked the film, I enjoyed all the performances, and was really impressed by Jared Harris (Professor James Moriarty). He really captured the essence of the character. I will say that although I am not a huge fan of the books, I thoroughly enjoyed Daniel Davis' portrayal of Moriarty on both ST:TNG episodes he appeared ("Elementary, Dear Data" and "Ship on a Bottle"). The script was really well done, and the repartee between Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law was remarkable. I was also quite taken with Watson's wife in the film, actress Kelly Reilly. After the film we returned home for lunch and snuggling.
Auditions for No Late Fees were last night, and I hear they went really well. The show is really quite good, and dare I say, quite an homage to the brilliant Kevin Smith.
As I write this, Melissa is at work, Lily is back at daycare, and I am home keeping an eye on a sick child (William).

Seriously!!

Okay, I am going to try to keep up with a blog. It's going to be tough, but I think I can do it. I have so many things to put into a journal, I just never seem to find time to do it (although I can find time for Farmville, Cityville, and posting on Facebook).

Anyway, today is the first day of 2012 and it's the year 40. I'm not sure if you read that correctly, but yes, I am turning 40.

Caution: This Blog May Cause Drowsiness

My appointment withmy new doctor went really well. She actually seemed to care about me as a person than just another patient with money in his wallet!

I had a blast with a lot of great friends on Saturday night at THE CUTTING EDGE in FT. WORTH, the World's Longest Haunted House.

Sunday was spent cleaning and organzing the house.

Wow -- this is ne boring blog.
